LWDA as Architect and TAT Interior Design collaborated to redesign Maplewood, a 20 year old IL/AL facility in need of a major repositioning, to remain competitive in a demanding marketplace. The project goal was to create a new brand aesthetic for the main façade and interior of the building, along with upgrades and relocations of major common areas: main entry, lobby, corridors, Assisted Living and Memory Care Unit.

The 14 bed “Tides Unit” is designed to serve residents with Early Stage Dementia as a complement to the 22 bed “Currents” unit for advanced stages of cognitive impairment. The new living room and casual dining area was developed with views and access to the common court outside; a reading lounge was opened up to the corridor and all resident apartment entries were redesigned.
