An existing 30 acre campus, developed haphazardly over many years, was selectively demolished and repurposed to create a new character suited to the needs of the scientists, engineers and researchers at Millipore’s new Research and Development Campus.

The challenge was to create a new landscape setting for three new buildings totaling over 225,000 SF, bounded by wetlands and partially located in a flood plain. The guiding principle for development was to reclaim and reallocate land previously used for site circulation and parking into usable recreational space.

The plant communities and landscape improvements
are designed to recharge the surrounding wetlands through the cleansing and reuse of storm water discharge.
